Gouda is no exception. Deltares teamed up with Xurux and Wareco to produce a blockchain with all the available data for the city. Blockchain technology is best known as the technology used for the bitcoin but it can be used for all kinds of other areas. 'This approach makes it easier not to get tangled up in discussions about the origin of data,' is how Bob Hoogendoorn, a geo­ logist at Deltares, describes the 'Land Subsidence Living Lab'.
