Advanced course for D-Geo Pipeline Online course, 6 October 2020 Designing a pipeline installation for horizontal directional drilling (HDD) with software tool D-Geo Pipeline is quite complex. This course covers the various design aspects and the background theory for HDD and D-Geo Pipeline. The lessons focus on a range of design issues: the pressure of drilling fluids, borehole stability, pulling force and the analysis of the pipeline stress. Other important areas to be addressed are soil stress, the soil-pipeline interaction, and surface subsidence. D-Geo Pipeline is used to both make and check designs for pipeline installations. Examples are drilling operations that require per- mits, such as operations below roads and railways, riverbanks and other vital infrastructure.
